About Me

Kirsten: Also on twitter- http://twitter.com/#!/KMDonnachie My name is Kirsten Donnachie and I am currently in my 3rd year at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design studying Textile Design. Over the past two year of the course, we have learned various techniques and in my 3rd year I chose to specialise in print. I predominantly work with silk, hand painting my fabrics and screen printing over the top to build up layers to create a more substantial designs. I would consider myself more of a painter than a designer and therefore tend to look at painters and fine artists for research purposes and feel these influences are reflected within my work in the studio. Over the course of the next year, I will be preparing for the 4th year degree show, I am to develop the skills I have learned so far and pretty much focus on producing as much work as possible.
